1. What operating systems are supported with the DuelAdapter Cradle product?The Cradle was designed to work with Windows XP, Vista, Mac OS X 10.3.9 and later operating systems.
2. Will my ExpressCard work with the Cradle?The Cradle was designed to work with ExpressCards that use a standard USB 2.0 interface. ExpressCards that have a PCI Express interface (ie. Gig Ethernet, SATA , Firewire, etc.) are not supported.
3. Is a software driver required for the Cradle adapter to work?No, the Cradle does not require an external software driver. However, you may have to install a separate driver for your ExpressCard to work correctly.
4. My ExpressCard doesn’t work with the Cradle. What are my options?Please contact your ExpressCard manufacturer and see if there is an updated driver for your ExpressCard for Windows or Mac OS X.
5. How do I make a warranty return?Before submitting a warranty claim, you must contact Duel Systems technical support to verify the product failure and to receive a return authorization number. You may contact a technical support agent 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1-888-227-7004 (English only), US and Canada only.
International customers may call 1-661-367-2215 (English only). Please have proof of purchase from an authorized reseller or the Duel Systems Online Store and the product serial number available when you call. You may review the Duel Systems 1 year Limited Warranty by clicking on the Warranty Information link on the menu at the left.
6. I recently purchased the Cradle, but I've changed my mind. How do I return it?You may return the Cradle within thirty days (30) of purchase with dated proof of purchase from an authorized reseller or the Duel online store. You must first obtain a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number from a customer service representative 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1-888-765-0347.
International customers may call 1-408-848-5784. Please have proof of purchase from an authorized reseller or the Duel Systems online store available when you call. A $10.00 restocking fee will be charged for products with opened packaging, regardless of whether the product has been used or not.
7. I lost the original Cradle Install Guide. Can I get another copy?You may download another copy of the Cradle Install Guide from the Downloads page. Click on the Drivers link on the menu at the left.

1. How can I get the latest version of the DuelAdapter driver software?To download the latest driver software, click on the Drivers link at the left. The URL is

How do I install the DuelAdapter software update I just downloaded?For Windows XP, uninstall the current version of the DuelAdapter software using the Windows Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. Then download the latest version of the DuelAdapter software to your computer hard drive. Unzip the Duel_Installer.zip file and run 'setup.exe'.
For Mac OS X 10.4.8, download the latest version of the DuelAdapter software to your computer hard drive. Click on the .pkg file and follow the install instructions.
3. Why do I have to restart my MacBook Pro or other Apple computer before I reinsert and use the DuelAdapter?Due to a peripherals management limitation in Mac OS X, your Apple computer must be restarted before reinserting the DuelAdapter into the ExpressCard card slot on your computer. We are actively working with Apple and expect to have this situation corrected in a future Mac OS X release. Please click on the Drivers link at the left for updated drivers:

4. What is the purpose of the 'A-B' switch?The DuelAdapter was designed to work with both Mac OS X and Windows XP operating systems. The switch enables the adapter to work in either environment.

5. Windows XP doesn't seem to recognize that the DuelAdapter is plugged in.First check to make sure the A-B switch on the underside of the ExpressCard insert is set to the B position. If it is and the adapter is still not recognized by the operating system, then try the following:
1. Unplug DuelAdapter. The adapter must remain unplugged until after Windows XP launches.
2. Change switch setting to the A position using the tip of a pen or a paper clip.
3. Reboot your computer.
4. Plug in the adapter.
5. Check adapter status with D logo in the system tray.
6. Insert your PCMCIA card.
6. Will the DuelAdapter work with Windows 98, 2000 or NT? The DuelAdapter was designed to work Windows XP Home, Media Center and Professional editions and with Mac OS X 10.4.8 or higher operating systems. Earlier versions are not supported.
7. Will the DuelAdapter work with Windows Vista?A driver for Windows Vista is under development. Check the Downloads page regularly for availability. In addition, you will need to check with the manufacturer of your PCMCIA card to verify the card's software driver works with Windows Vista, or to obtain an updated driver.
http://www.duel-systemsadapters.com/support/8. Will the DuelAdapter work with Mac OS X 10.5?Mac OS X 10.5 includes the DuelAdapter driver, so it will work automatically. However, you will need to check with the manufacturer of your PCMCIA card to verify the card’s software driver works with Mac OS X 10.5, or to obtain an updated driver.
9. Will my PCMCIA card work with the DuelAdapter?Check out the list of PCMCIA cards that have been tested by visiting the compatibility page on this web site. While we have tested many cards, it's possible that yours may not be listed. If the card is a standard PCMCIA card and the card driver runs on Windows XP or Mac OS X 10.4.8, it is highly likely that your card will work with the DuelAdapter.
10. I’ve installed the DuelAdapter driver software, but my PCMCIA card doesn’t work. What are my options? Contact your PCMCIA manufacturer and see if there is an updated driver for your PCMCIA card for Windows XP, Vista or Mac OS X 10.4.8 and later operating systems.
